PepsiCo LIFEWTR

“Inspiration Drops”

Director

‘Inspiration Drops’ is LIFEWTR’s first commercial and originally aired during the 2017 Super Bowl LI, featuring music from Grammy award-winning artist John Legend. The spot plugs Pepsi’s new bottled water with electrolytes – a new premium bottled water that fuses creativity and design based on the tagline: ‘thirst inspiration’.

In the commercial, a city is transformed when rain turns everything it touches into a colorful, visual masterpiece – the visuals of water adding art to the world riff on the beverage’s “Artist Series” bottle designs.

Robert based the artistic ad on the water’s label, which showcases the work of up-and-coming artists. The goal was to bring life and color into the electrolytes category and back it up with LIFEWTR’s purpose: that art is as essential to life as water. LIFEWTR is a source of not only hydration, but also inspiration.

In its first year, LIFEWTR launched 12 unique bottle designs across the 4-bottle Series and will be a platform for aspiring artists to be discovered. Each series was rooted in a unique cultural anchor from the art world: Series 1 Public Art, Series 2 - Women in Art, Series 3 - Emerging Fashion Designers, and Series 4 - Art in Education.

This was a dream project to be part of. Stromberg crafted a beautifully shot film, designed to showcase the incredible work of each artist. The cityscapes, quiet neighborhoods and bustling streets were the perfect canvas for their creations, accompanied by a great score.

“In this LifeWTR commercial, I wanted the audience to see and feel art on an epic level. Art is all around us, we just have to see it.”

— Robert Stromberg
